Woah Woah! It feels extremely good to gear up and sweat it out. Other then the usual work at GLOBALFOUNDRIES , i cycled on the road at 4am on my roadie with my friend Kenneth and it was a awesome experience. The great cool morning mist especially. After which , took a quick power nap before heading to work. Thou I sacrifice my beauty sleep but it's worth it. Get to enjoy the morning breeze & keep fit !
In the evening, Met my church friend Lynn at her condo for a short run followed by gym session too! Indeed is a day of working out and spending precious time too!
Never the less, it's a great great day! Birthday party more or less settled too. Thanks to my smiley friend yiting and a team of committed peeps who brain storm together with me.
As I'm typing my blog post, my entire body is ack-ing. How nice if i got someone special to
Massage me like i used to...

MY usual Sundays
Because that I have chosen time off to fellowship and bond with my cell this Sunday over badminton and earning cash, I am so so happy.
Started my day right by not riding my bike to church as it's a day to fellowship and I'm not in the rush to anywhere. Am pretty sure God totally agree with me too! Cause it's pouring heavily the entire morning and afternoon too! Causing small flash flood in front of church.
Had Lunch together with cell too and took 30mins to get to the prawning location via Bus.

It's indeed a good experience going with my sec 1 kids. Bonding and talking to teddy! I partnered and shared a rod with him by the way. We wait for our catch , we snap pictures , we disturb other teams , we bully the prawns and lastly we eat them!
Some of the sec 1 even freaked out!
So we BBQed and peel the shell for them. Ah.. Seems like peeling for my little kids thou. Seen them grown since Primary 5. From a little noisy kid to a Big boy!
Yay yay.. So we...... Oh gosh. Did i forget to mention, that i saw my BB peeps doing reece for amazing race camp which is happening like 2 weeks from now? Yeah! With Ms Lydia too! It's great to see all of you man. Been so long! Hope you are reading this..
Oh yeah. So we had dinner together at bishan S-11. The famous " Qiu LAN ; Ban mian ". It's a great time bonding with you people. Almost 12hours man.
Walked my way home and pumped up my bicycle and it's cycling with my buddy Kenneth FU!
Yes we did a short ride and the night weather rox as it's so so cooling and refreshing! After an entire day of rain. The road is so much cleaner too! Had Starbucks and spent the next 1 hour fixing and mending his tire at his place before heading home. Well at least we sort out our misunderstanding. ( read few post back to find out what happen or you can ask Huijun )
It's a great great day! But wallet did't had a great day thou.

De Roadie Experience
It's Painful , It's hot and Very tough to complete the Entire journey.. But when encouragements kick in, Everything is possible.
In my entire Journey to complete the route, At my 70km that's when my muscles are heating up and cramps starts kicking in.. That's when the negative mindset of giving up came in. Cause it's only Half of the total route.
Thanks to My buddy Kenneth who encourages me and asking me to Draft him from behind. That helps me pull through till the next checkpoint where there is Energy isotonic drinks and banana supplied.
That's when this verse of the bible kick in and relax it on my daily life and struggles i had. Be it School , BGR , commitments and friends.
At the 100km mark, Things become worst. Thighs and calf muscles started to cramp every now and then and sharp pain kicks in when ever i wanted to Exert force and pick up speed. Not forgeting the ASS. Yes. my butt and Little brother hurts too. Been cycling for almost 9hour since 7am in the morning. Feeling Worried too. As studies has shown that mounting on bicycle for that low will cause low sperm count. Lol. It's totally testing my mental and physical self. But to press on and Endure is what i told myself.
In the end , together with Kenneth , Jeffery and myself. We have completed the entire route. What make this ride so tiring? It's a slow ride and no one is taking the lead to pull the entire Pack.
Through this journey, Have learn to Endure as i know it's within my capabilities and means!
After a tough ride, there's a Exam to worry and stress about for Monday. Slept from 5pm till 8pm before beginning my revision for Monday's exam. Have totally no clue on what is the moduel all about too.
Begin my 2 hours revision from 8pm to 10pm in pain. Feeling pain and having problems getting up and down too. Calling it a day at 1130pm and slept for almost another 9 hours till dawn. Been so long since i have such a good sleep.

How to Ride Your Bicycle in Singapore (And Not Die): The Left Hook
This is what i got from Mrbrown site which i think is good to share with my fellow cyclist..
A little video I put together about left hooks, after watching this story from News 10 NBC, via Dave Moulton's blog. An American police car almost right hooks a cyclist in a story about the Rorchester mayor's Zero Tolerance initiative and the news report paints it as the cyclist's fault.
Do be careful of Left Hooks when you ride, because as this video shows, even the police can make mistakes (and in this case, blame the rider).
Ride safe out there, folks.

Cycling lumba haram?
What is lumba haram?
Started in 2007 when there was a drought of local cycling races the previous year, the term was coined from the Malay word for illegal racing. Nothing illegal about it though; it's just an unsanctioned club members riding individually along Lim Chu Kang stretch, as a chance for riders to test their fitness in a relatively closed, repeatable and relatively safe environment. It gives riders a chance to test their time trial abilities, and what to expect from a time trial. Using the results, it has since been used to group riders of approx the same standards together for team time trial - and that's the main reason why we're having this now! Lim Chu Kang is a quiet stretch of road with hardly any traffic except during Cheng Beng, when Chinese visit the graves nearby. There is a service road parallel to the runway and this forms a 4.835km loop. If you are coming from Longhouse, travel along the stretch of Lim Chu Kang until near the end. If you see a turning into service road before the army camp, that's too far already. This is the turn into the service road that is part of the race route. Moving back 300m, there will be a very small sideroad where we will gather and that is the start point. A time keeper will be located here and will note the time each time you pass by. This is the start and ending point. The route goes in an anti-clockwise direction, i.e. from the start, ride up the left turn into the service road. Be careful as this area could be sandy and there may be TIBS bus exiting. Safety above all. Go into the turn and you will hit a short, gentle slope. Head on until the end of the road when you make another left turn back into the main LCK road - again, take care to look at traffic before moving out to the main road. Travel along the distance and you will be back to the start/end point. Repeat.

The highlight of the event for JoyRiders was Love to Sleep Kenneth who won the first prize for the LUCKY DRAW – a pair of Reynold wheels worth over $700. It was better than being first in his category although he did extremely well and kept up with the pack! Kenneth, Wandering Joshua(myself) got a pair of gloves and some energy drink? didn't really take a good look at it As they are in Snail queen house at the moment.
and newbie Adriel were in the the Junior category. The turnout was rather unexpected, with prominent names in the local
pelotons at the starting line. Ironically, albeit the worry-filled
mind, i thought it was an honour to ride with them.
The ride :
After the flagoff saw a series of attacks and sprints in an attempt
(of the faster cyclist) to drop off the slower ones (me). Lazy and
less aggressive as i am, sucked wheels mid way before getting a drop from the pack. Sprints up to
50km/h were launched by the passione and cycleworx rider, only to
turn back for a peek in dismay i was missing:) .
Ladies category - it was encouraging to see Hardcore Corinne, Bubble Sharon and Bunny on bike Chyrl coming out for their first race and mother snail was going to be there to watch her kids! Besides the four of them, they had Rebecca Peters who was racing under Mobile Edge and another unknown lady.
The JoyRiders girls kept very much together, chatting, smiling blah3 and each time they were near the finish line, can see that they were waiting for the bell to ring! It finally did but we were still having a nice recovery ride. It was not until we were near the spectators on the return lap back to the the U-turn and the finish line, there was a bit of action! Rebecca jumped into action, Chyrl and Sharon went charging and mother snail woke up! Wow,
Sports category – Alvin 'Bee' Hoon had a flat while Conman Pascal just took part to keep his tour of Egat flame burning but the truth is he wanted to show off his new hair style!

Community Mass Cycling cum Circuit Cycling Race @ Southwest District
In line with our government's support and promotion of healthy lifestyle through regular exercise, we are taking an opportunity to promote this called our "cohesive biking community" activities.
Yew Tee Constituency Sports Club is organising a Mass Cycling cum Circuit Cycling Race for the people in Singapore on 8th June 2008 at Brickland Road (Chua Chu Kang). We are expecting a combination of about 500 to 600 participants to turn up for this intended annual cycling event. This event which is jointly supported by Yew Tee CC and South West CDC is also part of the anchor event for the Southwest Community Sports Festival. We are honored to have Mr Gan Kim Yong, Acting Minister for Manpower as well as MP for Chua Chu Kang, as our Guest-of Honor (GOH).
Registration is now officially opened at Yew Tee CC and some designated CC. This is your event, do come and join us on that day. Give your utmost support to this meaningful event, the first ever cycling race in Singapore organised by government bodies.
For more info, kindly visit our website @ http://www.yewteecc.org.sg/ and/ or

15 JoyRiders participants were @ the Yew Tee Criterium and we all had fun! It was also wonderful to see so many JoyRiders supporters who came to cheer especially those we came after their city duathlon! Taking part in a criterium has never crossed my mind as it looked like it required good bike handling skills and power, 2 things which I need to work on.
However, when the Yew Tee Criterium came about, I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to try, as the no. of participants were far fewer than usual and the atmosphere seemed less competitive.

As the day dew nearer, I got increasingly nervous as Criteriums were new to me. It's my first race after all you see. Thankfully, I had a good night's sleep and the weather was great for racing. Not too hot and no rain.
We thought the organisers did a fantastic job even though this is their first time doing this! The location was good with toilet potties and they even set up nice big tents for participants to hang out! The registration fee was $20 but we had a useful recycle bag, a dri fit t-shirt and a packet of high energy Electrolyte drink from Hammer and a bottle of water each. The best part was they had loads of lucky draws! The highlight of the event for JoyRiders was Love to Sleep Kenneth who won the first prize for the LUCKY DRAW – a pair of Reynold wheels worth over $700. Master category – We had Mighty Johnson Disco Duck, Baby Larry and Record Holder Looi representing us! Looi would have won a medal if there was a category for 60 and above!
Larry and Johnson kept up with the pack and it was so exciting just watching them. Johnson was impressive and was 6th @ the finished line! You should hear his story that he was boxed in otherwise the chances of being 3rd is a possibility! Not bad for those who took part in the criterium race for the first time! Well done, guys!
Johnson was finally happy that he won a lucky draw too!
Elite category – Wan 'ton' was so nice, he took part because we needed more JoyRiders support! The Elite category was tough and the riders were seriously elite including our Wan!
We will surely miss him when he goes back to Australia this weekend but he will be back representing us for the Tour of Egat next year! :)
Youth B - Stanley Junior Wong Wei Han - 4th and would have done better if there was less U-turn with longer distance! Well done, Wei Han!
Thanks again to HydroCarbon Stanley for his lorry transport and without Ping Pong Song Heng we would not have enough transport! Btw, Song Heng promised to start riding soon :)
